WHAT IS CONFIRMATION YEAR 1?
St. Anthony of Padua prepares high school teens over a two year period for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Candidates for Confirmation can begin preparation in their Freshman year of high school. Each Candidate will complete their first year of preparation by attending Tuesday evening sessions or they are enrolled in an accredited Catholic High School. The second year of preparation is the year in which the Candidate will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Confirmation Year 1 is dedicated to laying the foundation of Christian discipleship. Jesus Christ invites everyone to "Come, follow me." High school students are no different. Our goal is to create a fantastic environment when young high school students can hear the Word of God, live their faith in community, and grow in holiness.
WHO IS IT FOR?
It is for incoming 9th graders up to 11th grade that need to begin their Confirmation preparation, which in the Archdiocese of Houston-Galveston is a 2 year process.
This program is the fulfillment of Confirmation Year 1 preparation.
