HIGH SCHOOL 2021

We need to be safe and smart, but not isolated!

Our parish has been smart and incredibly safe, but now it is time to return to gathering together. As adults, we know this is adversely affecting our children and we need to start returning to as close to normal as we can. This starts with the Freshmen and those preparing for Confirmation. We will reduce the size of our groups and continue sanitizing seats and keeping our distance. Our schools and churches have not been "superspreaders" like we thought back in March, so keeping kids home and trying to teach via the Internet is not necessary, as long as we continue to be smart and safe!

YEAR ONE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

We are going to offer YEAR ONE students the chance to encounter Christ in-person and on campus. We will break it down into two back-to-back gatherings so the numbers don't get too big, and we will offer a virtual learning experience as well. Kickoff is on January 24. We will take off for Spring Break (Mar. 14) and Easter (April 4). To do this, we have to dramatically simplify things, so here is the plan.

Here’s what you do:

  1. Head here: https://ap.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/682538

  2. Pick a time that works best for you, or choose Virtual Learning if you're not comfortable in person

  3. Commit to the semester at that timeslot (we aren't bouncing back and forth)

  4. Each session maxes out at 130 students, so talk with your friends ahead of time.

Sadly, we aren’t having small groups at this time. The shorter and simpler, the better. It will be gathering, prayer, a talk, plenty of Q&A, and then closing prayer and dismissal. Not as good as a full Life Night, but it's also not just watching more videos.

THE UPPER CLASS DISCIPLESHIP

Launching on January 31, we will meet weekly on Sunday evenings, 7:15-8:15 to explore the Gospel and the implications of what it means to "deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me." This is an honest and hard look at life, love, suffering, and how your life will have meaning only through voluntarily accepting the Cross.
