CONFIRMATION YEAR 2

WHAT IS CONFIRMATION?

St. Anthony of Padua prepares high school teens over a two year period for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Candidates for Confirmation can begin preparation in their Freshman year of high school. Each Candidate will complete their first year of preparation by attending Life Nights, which is held on Sunday evenings or they are enrolled in an accredited Catholic High School.

 

The second year of preparation is the year in which the Candidate will receive the Sacrament. Teens will be enrolled in Confirmation Nights which are held on Wednesday evenings. All Candidates enrolled in Confirmation Nights will also automatically be enrolled in Life Teen and are invited to attend Life Nights on Sunday evenings.

ELIGIBILITY 

Year One must be completed to be eligible to register for Confirmation Nights in Year Two. Click below for Year One Information:

YEAR TWO : SACRAMENT

Year Two has 3 components, they are: 

FORMATION

Candidates in Year Two will register and participate in Confirmation Nights held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm - 8:30pm during the school year and attend the Confirmation Retreat. 

Most weeks the Youth Room will open at 6:30 for social time.  Snacks will be available!

INDIVIDUAL SERVICE

Candidates in Year Two will select individual projects utilizing their gifts and talents to serve others completing 4 of 7 Corporal or Spiritual works of Mercy. If you are involved in a ministry such as Teen Assisting at Anchor, Edge, or Faith Formation, are an Altar Server, Cantor, or Lector, this can also be considered your Works of Mercy project. (2 hour minimum for all works combined.) . These do not have to be completed through the Parish.

 

CHOOSE SAINT NAME

As a candidate for the Sacrament of Confirmation you have two options concerning the choice of a Confirmation Name.
