EDGE

During Confirmation Year 1, teens should give careful thought to who they would like to choose as their Confirmation Sponsor using the guidelines below. The sponsor form is an online submission.

The Sponsor's Role​

  • Is a role model of Christian living for the Confirmation Candidate, through daily prayer, virtue and active participation in parish life and liturgy.

  • Nurtures a close personal and spiritual relationship with the Candidate during the Confirmation preparation year and throughout their lifetime.

  • Listens to and shares in the Candidates maturing struggles and triumphs in living a Christian life.

  • Keeps informed of Catholic Christian doctrine and values to be able to correctly answer questions when they arise.

  • Encouraged to attend Confirmation Mass and Rehearsal. A proxy can stand in place of the Sponsor if necessary.

Sponsor Requirements

  • The sponsor must be selected by the candidate or parents and be willing to accept the role.

  • Only one Sponsor per Candidate.

  • The sponsor must be at least 16 years of age.

  • The sponsor must be a Catholic who has been Confirmed and has received the sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist and lives a life of harmony with the Catholic faith and the role to be undertaken.

  • If married, the sponsor must be married in the Catholic Church.

  • The sponsor must not be bound by any canonical penalty legitimately imposed or declared.

  • The sponsor may not be the parent of the Confirmation Candidate.

Al separar a los estudiantes mayores de los más jóvenes de secundaria, podemos profundizar, tener conversaciones más interesantes y cubrir temas más cruciales en su vida y fe.Bordees una introducción a cómo ejecutamos nuestro Vida Adolescente y programas de escuela secundaria. El objetivo de todos nuestros ministerios juveniles es formar discípulos de Jesucristo para toda la vida. Esto significa que paraBorde Estudiantes, nos centraremos en los temas que más les afectan y en cómo podemos encontrar a Cristo en medio de una vida loca.
