OCIA for Teens
BECOMING CATHOLIC: OCIA for Teens YEAR 2 is only for high school teens (grades 10-12) who:
1. Have never been baptized or have been baptized in a Christian faith other than Catholic.
2. Have completed a year of formation through Life Teen Year 1 or attended an accredited Catholic High School the prior year.
3. Have contacted Shelly Wilson to determine your Teen's readiness to enter the Becoming Catholic-OCIA for Teens program during the following school year.
OCIA teens who have never been baptized are referred to as Catechumens. OCIA teens who have been baptized in another Christian faith are referred to as Candidates.
TEEN CATECHUMEN’S COMMITMENT

OCIA Teen Catechumens will register for the Teen Confirmation classes, which are on Wednesday evenings 7-8:30PM. The 2026-27 Confirmation Class Schedule will be available in July. (Required paperwork prior to registration: Birth Certificate and Sponsor Form)

Teen Catechumens will also register in the Becoming Catholic: OCIA for Teens program and are expected to attend Sunday Mass at 6PM when they have a scheduled Breaking Open the Word (B.O.W.) Session. The Teens will be dismissed from Mass after the Gospel/Homily and go to the Youth Room for instruction and discussion.

TEEN CANDIDATE’S COMMITMENT

OCIA Teen Candidates, who have completed the required year of formation, will register for the Teen Confirmation Program, which meets on Wednesday Nights. (Required paperwork prior to registration: Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate and Sponsor Form)

Teens must also attend all sessions, classes & events noted on the BECOMING CATHOLIC (OCIA-Candidate)/Confirmation Year 2 Schedule.

-All Teens who have never been baptized (Catechumens) will receive the sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation during the Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday, March 27, 2027.
-Teens who have been baptized in another Christian faith (Candidates) will make a Profession of Faith and receive the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation on Divine Mercy Sunday April 4, 2027.
