MINISTRY OVERVIEW
Confirmation Year 2 is a year-long formation program that gives your teen the very heart and soul of the Catholic faith to prepare him or her to worthily receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Spring of 2024. Mostly taught in classrooms, Confirmation is a vibrant part of our Life Teen ministry. Teens will be dual enrolled in Confirmation Year 2 and Life Teen Youth Group on Sunday evenings. We will host socials together throughout the year. This builds solid friendships that go beyond the reception of the sacrament.
WHO CAN JOIN CONFIRMATION YEAR 2?
Your teen must meet the following requirements before registering for Confirmation Year 2:
Fully completed the Confirmation Year 1 curriculum with excellent attendance
Be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in High School
Regularly attends Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation
Has faith in Jesus Christ and truly desires to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation
If you have not received Baptism or your First Communion, we will help prepare you!

REGISTRATIONS FOR 2023-24 YEAR HAVE BEEN SENT TO THOSE THAT QUALIFY
Please check your Spam folders if you have submitted all your teen's paperwork and completed the Confirmation Year 1 program, but have not seen the email with the link to register for Year 2.
The Confirmation Year 2 program is offered to teens that have completed a full year of Confirmation Year 1 with minimal absences, or a full year of Catholic School.

WEEKLY CLASSES
Confirmation Year 2 will launch in September with a Parent Meeting and Teen Evaluations. Confirmation classes are held weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. All Confirmation Year 2 teens are expected to attend all Confirmation classes and must do make-up work for any absences. Due to the importance of this sacramental year, only 4 absences are allowed for the year. Confirmation Year 2 sessions meet in large and small group settings. All small groups will have well-trained adult Catechists, as well as Teen Assistants engaging in peer ministry.
CONFIRMATION RETREAT FOR YEAR 2
One of the greatest blessings for Confirmation Year 2 teens is our annual Confirmation Retreat Weekend. This is a powerful weekend of Mass, Adoration, Confession, memorable speakers who share their testimony on subjects and issues relevant to the life of a Catholic teen, small group sessions and spiritual team-building activities, games, and so much more! Every year our teens come back from these retreat weekends joyful and transformed. Attendance is a requirement for Confirmation. Refer to the Confirmation Year 2 calendar for the dates of the retreat.
SAINT NAME PROJECT
Confirmation Year 2 teens will research the lives of Saints to discern and select a Confirmation Saint Name. Through the Saint Name Project your teen will invest time in discovering a Saint who demonstrate qualities that they admire and would like to emulate in their own life. Teens must submit their Saint Name Project online by December 6, 2023.
WORKS OF MERCY SERVICE PROJECT
All teens are expected to supplement their intellectual formation with Christian charity. We do this by encouraging Works of Mercy in our parish and in our communities. Teens will not just serve, but also reflect upon their service as it relates to the mission of Christ. They must submit their service project paperwork no later than March 6, 2024. CONFIRMATION DATE
The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated by our Cardinal, a bishop, or other appointed celebrant. The date will be assigned to our parish by the Archdiocese, and we are usually notified in early Spring. We will communicate our Confirmation Mass date to parents as soon as we are notified by the Archdiocese.
